Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) has instructed all public Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) to grant registration flexibility for students affected by the floods in Sabah and Sarawak. Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, stated that the universities will provide adequate assistance and leeway to ensure that no students are deprived of the opportunity to pursue their studies.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Zambry urged prospective students and parents facing flood-related challenges, especially those due to enrol at public universities soon, to remain calm and not worry. He encouraged affected individuals to contact their respective universities to inform them of their situation, as mentioned in a Facebook post today.
Zambry also announced that the Malaysian University Student Volunteer Council and volunteer teams from the IHLs will be mobilised to aid in post-flood recovery efforts. He expressed his deepest sympathies to all disaster victims and hoped they find the strength and patience to endure the current hardships.
In his statement, Zambry thanked those who have stepped forward to help and contribute to the relief efforts. He advised everyone to prioritise their safety and expressed hope for a swift return to normalcy.
