Monthly Family Dinners Cherished by Muhammad Darwish’s Brother

Bandar baru tangkak: The brother of Muhammad Darwish Kamarul Hafiz, 19, one of the four individuals tragically killed in a four-vehicle crash along Jalan Muar-Segamat near Bandar Baru Sagil, says the memory of their monthly family dinners will forever remain dear to him.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Danish Kamarul Hafiz, 22, reminisced about the last family dinner they shared at the end of last month, featuring grilled fish in Melaka-his brother's favorite dish. Muhammad Darwish, a part-time barber, appeared happiest during these family gatherings.

"As it was only he and I who stayed at home in Tangkak, and my parents in Segamat, those monthly family dinners became our family custom," Muhammad Danish expressed. He recalled waking his brother for class at Tangkak Community College the morning before the crash, which would be their last interaction.

Their father, Kamarul Hafiz Jaafar, 51, recounted the poignant moment when he last saw Muhammad Darwish. "I was coming from Segamat to Tangkak and managed to call him when passing his college. He was waiting by the gate and waved to his mother and I. That night, I was really shocked to receive news that a crash had taken the life of my son, Muhammad Darwish," he said.

The crash also claimed the lives of Muhammad Darwish's friend and co-worker, Muhammad Alauddin Shah Zulkarnain, 20, as well as Sky Chang Ji Shiang, 20, and Pang Chong Chong, 18. Muhammad Darwish was laid to rest in the Bukit Kontang Muslim Cemetery, while Muhammad Alauddin Shah Zulkarnain was buried in Parit Bakar, Muar.
