More Than 150 Entrepreneurs to Feature in HPPK2025 in Temerloh

Temerloh: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) will organise the National Hawkers and Small Traders Day Carnival 2025 (HPPK2025) at Lurah Semantan, Temerloh, Pahang starting this Friday until Sunday. KUSKOP Secretary-General Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud stated that the event aims to empower the entrepreneurial community, aligning with the annual celebration of Hawkers and Small Traders Day on November 18.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, HPPK2025 will feature participation from 158 entrepreneurs, including eight food truck operators, 14 Anekarasa MADANI entrepreneurs, and 30 One District One Industry (SDSI) entrepreneurs. Additionally, 707 hawkers from the Temerloh Weekly Market will join alongside 20 federal and state government exhibition agencies. The event's theme, 'Driving the MADANI Economy: Empowering Micro Entrepreneurs,' reflects the government's commitment to grassroots economic development.

Khairul Dzaimee highlighted the success of HPPK2024 in Penang, which attracted 44,000 visitors, generating RM520,000 in sales and RM3.26 million in potential financing. He emphasized that HPPK serves as a valuable platform for micro entrepreneurs, linking them to market and financing opportunities. This year's event is expected to enhance public awareness of Hawkers and Small Traders Day, acknowledging the vital role of entrepreneurs in the national economy.

Visitors to HPPK2025 can explore various offerings, including Jualan Rahmah MADANI and quality local products from SDSI and Anekarasa MADANI entrepreneurs. The event will also introduce initiatives in digital transformation and AI, such as marketing collaborations with TikTok Shop and entrepreneurship seminars by the National Entrepreneurship Institute Bhd (INSKEN), aiming to boost digitalisation and modernise micro entrepreneurs' operations.

The three-day carnival will feature diverse activities, including safety awareness programmes with free helmet distribution by the Road Transport Department (JPJ), free motorcycle oil changes, the Community Satellite Programme, a Fun Run, and support from SOCSO and the Malaysian Prisons Department. To encourage public spending, visitors will receive a coupon worth RM10 to support local small businesses.
