Muar: A motorcyclist and his elderly pillion rider lost their lives after a four-wheel-drive vehicle, allegedly driven by an intoxicated individual, collided with their motorcycle on Jalan Rencong, Lenga. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muar district police chief ACP Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz reported that the incident occurred at 8.42 am. The crash involved a Ford Ranger driven by a 39-year-old man, who was found to be under the influence of drugs. The vehicle veered into the opposite lane from the direction of Lenga, leading to the collision. The police chief identified the motorcyclist as Norman Ahmad, aged 47, and his uncle, Sa'at Kassim, aged 77, as the pillion rider. Both suffered head and bodily injuries and were pronounced dead during treatment at Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital. Further investigation revealed that police discovered suspected drugs in the vehicle, including 20 Eramin-5 pills weighing 5.15 grammes and 0.39 grammes of syabu.
