Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia is committed to continuing its collaboration with international partners in achieving fairer, more sustainable, and resilient development for collective well-being, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated. He emphasized this during a meeting with United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) executive secretary Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar highlighted Malaysia's dedication to actively engaging with UNESCAP and other international entities to enhance economic and social development across the Asia-Pacific region. He noted that this commitment aligns with Malaysia's aspirations as ASEAN Chair in 2025, where inclusion and sustainability will be central to the regional agenda.
UNESCAP, one of the five United Nations regional commissions, is focused on promoting inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development. The commission collaborates with ASEAN through various initiatives, including investment promotion workshops and green investment projects.
