Kuala lumpur: The participation of Scouts Association of Malaysia (PPM) in the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree provides Malaysian youth with direct exposure to international scouting practices and leadership development. National Scout Council vice president Datuk Zamani Tambichek said the participation in the jamboree was not merely symbolic but served as a strategic learning platform to strengthen the leadership capabilities and competitiveness of the nation's youth.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Zamani emphasized that the participation allows Malaysian scouts to assess approaches, programme management, and scouting facilities in use at the international level. He noted the experience is important to ensure that scouting programme development in Malaysia remains relevant, inclusive, and in line with global standards.

The jamboree, held from Dec 14 to 21 at Kainomayan Scout Camp, Botolan, Zambales, the Philippines, brings together scouts from across the Asia-Pacific region and serves as a platform for cross-cultural interaction and the exchange of ideas. Malaysian contingent leader Kam Kah Ann mentioned that all participants are in good health and ready to take part in various activities designed to build leadership, discipline, and teamwork.

Meanwhile, Chief Scout of Malaysia Maj Gen Datuk Prof Dr Mohd Zin Bidin also met with members of the Malaysian contingent to engage with the participants and check on their welfare throughout their participation in the jamboree.
