Terengganu: Operators of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) stand to gain a better understanding of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices and e-Invoices through programs organized by SME Corp Malaysia, an agency under the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (KUSKOP).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, SME Corp Malaysia chief executive officer Rizal Nainy highlighted that initiatives like the two-day 2025 MSME Sustainability Series programme, which recently concluded, are instrumental in providing MSMEs with exposure and practical guidance on implementing ESG practices within their business operations.
Rizal emphasized that the adoption of e-Invoices aligns with ESG practices by enhancing the governance element through improved transparency and compliance in financial reporting. This development is poised to support Malaysia in achieving more efficient financial administration, and the introduction of the e-Invoice is a promising step forward. He urged MSMEs to adopt these practices confidently to ensure their future sustainability.
The programme, conducted over two days for MSME participants in Terengganu and other East Coast regions, featured several key activities, including the 2025 ESG Workshop: From Theory to Practice, the e-Invoice Seminar, and the MSME Open Day.
Rizal also pointed out that incorporating ESG principles by MSMEs would not only ensure the continuity of existing supply chains but also open up new market opportunities and enhance access to green finance.
The second day was focused on the e-Invoice for MSMEs seminar, which provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of e-Invoice implementation. Rizal noted that the session offered insights into the concept and basics of e-Invoicing in line with guidelines set by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN). The interactive seminar also provided step-by-step practical guidance on utilizing e-Invoices, particularly through the MyInvois portal.
