MTHQA: Nine Other Contestants To Present Recitations On Third Day

KUALA LUMPUR, The third day of the 64th International Quran Recitation and Memorisation Assembly (MTHQA) will see nine other contestants present their recitations at the World Trade Centre tonight.

According to Jakim’s post on Facebook today, Kazakhstan Qari Ahmet Serik will lead the list of contestants, followed by Canadian Qari Mohammad Maruf Hossain and Indian Qariah Sumayya Sadia.

Qari Wahyu Andi Saputra (Indonesia), Qari Ahmet Redzematovic (Montenegro), Qariah Rumaisa Abdul Rashid (Pakistan), Qari Abdullah @Soe Min Htike (Myanmar), Qariah Raihana Ambangala (Philippine) and Qari Muhammad Baqir Shahul Hameed (Hong Kong) will also present their recitations tonight.

Earlier in the morning, 10 participants in the memorisation category completed their recitations.

They were Moussa Ahmed Ely from Mauritania, Said Abdullahi Mohamed (Somalia), Mamoussady Doucoure (Mali), Aiemiddin Farkhudinov (Russia), Yasin Alhumawi (Germany), Bouchra Bassam Abdelhadi (Lebanon), Saalih Muhammad Rahim (Guyana), Maimoona Moni
ruzzaman (Bangladesh), Ryaan Saad B Alzhrani (Saudi Arabia) and Abdoul Djabbar Kalmogo (Burkina Faso).

The 64th MTHQA, themed ‘Al-Falah Pemacu Malaysia MADANI,’ officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim last night, involved 92 participants from 71 countries, comprising 53 recitation and 39 memorisation contestants.

His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, and Her Majesty, Raja Zarith Sofiah, the Queen of Malaysia, will grace the prize presentation ceremony on Oct 12.
