Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the 82nd National Land Council (MTN) meeting emphasized measures to enhance land regulation, ensuring it is inclusive, protects public interest, and aligns with current needs and realities. He stressed the importance of collaboration between federal and state governments to expedite land approval processes, facilitating prompt implementation of development projects for the benefit of the people.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar highlighted that while the land approval processes should be accelerated, it is crucial that existing procedures remain intact and the states’ authority over land matters is fully respected. The meeting reiterated its commitment to maintaining half of the country’s land area as forested, aligning with international goals and the objectives of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) 2026-2030.
The Prime Minister further stated that the MADANI government will continue to pursue a development agenda that balances human needs with environmental sustainability, incorporating sustainability principles as a core component of the MADANI concept. Chaired by the Prime Minister, the MTN serves as the highest platform for coordinating national land planning and management between the federal and state governments, ensuring optimal land utilization that balances economic demands, social needs, and environmental conservation.
