Kuala lumpur: Less than a month after making history as the first Malaysian to become a ONE Championship world champion, national Muay Thai star Ahmad Nor Iman Aliff Rakib has bought a RM1 million bungalow for his parents.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 22-year-old athlete stated that the house in Rantau Panjang had been completed and was ready to be occupied. He described it as a token of appreciation for his parents, Rakib Ahmad, 52, and Suriawati Che Wook, 46, acknowledging their sacrifices and support throughout his career.

"My wish is to make them proud. Besides taking them for Umrah, I can now buy them a house," Aliff shared with reporters at the Wira Negara Ceremony. He revealed that the house was purchased with his savings from his career as a Muay Thai athlete.

Aliff's recent victory over Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao by knockout (KO) in the fifth round at Lumpinee Stadium, Bangkok, marked the pinnacle of his career thus far. This victory earned him the ONE Interim Strawweight Muay Thai World Championship belt, distinguishing him as the first Malaysian to achieve this milestone in ONE Championship.

He attributed his success to years of rigorous training and professional development in Bangkok, which also enabled him to secure a US$100,000 (RM408,996) contract, broadening his opportunities on the international stage.

Looking to the future, Aliff expressed his ambition to engage in a title unification bout against the undisputed Strawweight Muay Thai world champion, Prajanchai PK Saenchai. He views this as a significant challenge in his career. "God willing, we can bring home another belt," Aliff said, adding that he hopes his next fight might be held in Malaysia if given the opportunity.
