Singapore: National hurdler Muhammad Armin Zahryl Abdul Latif clinched the gold medal in the 110 metres men's hurdles at the 2026 Singapore Open Track and Field Championship held at the National Stadium in Singapore today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Armin achieved this feat with a personal best time of 13.82 seconds, surpassing his previous best of 13.85 seconds. He finished ahead of Singapore's Ang Chen Xiang, who clocked in at 13.85 seconds, and the Philippines' Clinton Kingsley Bautista, who completed the race in 14.22 seconds.
Muhammad Armin expressed his satisfaction with his performance, stating, "I'm happy to have recorded a personal best of 13.82 s beating my previous 13.85 s. Actually my target for 2026 is to run 13.90 s and Alhamdulillah I set a new personal best." He extended his gratitude to his parents, coach, teammates, and local fans for their unwavering support, sharing his thoughts in a Facebook post by Athletics Malaysia.
In another event, Ng Jing Xuan secured the silver medal in the women's javelin with a throw measuring 47.49 meters, further highlighting the competitive spirit and talent present at the championship.
