Muhammad Rafiq Determined To Return To Winning Ways At Thailand Open

Kuala lumpur: National kegler Muhammad Rafiq Ismail is determined to return to his winning ways at his first championship this season, the Thailand Open, from April 17 to 20, even while admitting that his form has yet to be at its best.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Rafiq said that his focus is now on several major tournaments, including the Thailand Open, and would use them to raise his performance and help him be selected for the Asian Championship. He expressed his disappointment with his previous performances and his hope to improve this year, with a special focus on being selected for the Asian Championship, which he considers the main Key Performance Index (KPI) for the year.

The 29-year-old bowler emphasized the importance of the upcoming championships in his selection process, mentioning that he is concentrating on the Thailand Open, the Singapore Open, and the Malaysian Open, among others. He made these remarks at the Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC) Aidilfitri event at Mega Lanes, Sunway, and indicated that he does not plan to participate in the next championship in the United States, which is scheduled five days after the Thailand Open.

Muhammad Rafiq cited the current global situation as a reason for his decision not to participate in the U.S. tournament. He recalled a previous experience where he had to postpone his flight and incur additional costs for changing it, a hassle he wishes to avoid this time.
