Gua musang: The MUSE Enduro 2026 programme has the potential to emerge as a key recreational sports and ecotourism product in Gua Musang, showcasing its unique terrain, rich biodiversity and local community heritage. Exploration Motor Sports Club (ELS) chairman Mohd Haizul Omar said the programme would not only offer an exciting enduro riding experience for extreme motor sports enthusiasts, but also create economic opportunities for the local community.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Haizul Omar emphasized that well-organised motoring and adventure activities could stimulate economic activity among local residents by creating demand for food, accommodation, support services and other tourism-related services. He stated that the programme aims to benefit everyone, allowing enduro enthusiasts to enjoy their sport while also supporting the local community and economy.
Mohd Haizul also highlighted that the programme could provide participants with an opportunity to experience Gua Musang's unique landscape and Orang Asli communities, fostering respect for the local community and appreciation of the environment. The three-day MUSE Enduro 2026 programme, held from August 28 to 30, offered more than just challenging rides; it included opportunities to engage with Orang Asli communities and participate in cultural activities.
The event, organised by the Kelantan State Youth and Sports Department in collaboration with ELS, the ST Rally Club, and Holeshot Motowear, attracted participants from Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore, as well as riders from across Malaysia. This spotlighted Gua Musang as an emerging destination for adventure sports and ecotourism.
Mohd Haizul noted that combining motorsports with tourism, volunteering, community development, and social responsibility aligns with ELS' goal of making MUSE Enduro an annual event. Furthermore, ELS plans to expand collaboration with government agencies, the private sector, and other stakeholders to ensure future editions bring greater benefits to local communities and surrounding areas.
