Kuala lumpur: Negeri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun is ready to shoulder the challenge of contesting the Linggi state seat, the Barisan Nasional (BN) stronghold, in the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aminuddin's confidence in securing victory in Linggi is driven by his determination to ensure the constituency is not left behind in development, given its proximity to Port Dickson, which is growing as the state's tourism and economic hub.
Aminuddin expressed his vision to transform Linggi into a more prosperous area, highlighting planned port and industrial developments as key drivers of prosperity. He emphasized his commitment to ensure the people of Linggi are not left behind, despite the constituency being a BN stronghold.
Speaking after the PH candidate announcement ceremony at Dataran Melang, Kuala Pilah, Aminuddin underscored the importance of contesting in Linggi to ensure victory, stating, "Nothing is impossible."
The Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, who also serves as the Port Dickson Member of Parliament, noted that a victory in the Linggi state constituency would enable him to forge closer ties with local residents and gain a deeper understanding of their needs.
Aminuddin called for the support and blessings of Linggi voters to advance the development agenda, assuring them of the abundance of development projects planned by the state government.
He also expressed gratitude to the voters of the Sikamat state constituency for their trust over four consecutive terms since 2008, conveying his appreciation for their continued support.
Meanwhile, Aminuddin's political secretary, Nor Azman Mohamad, who has been nominated to contest the Sikamat seat, pledged to uphold the legacy of service established by Aminuddin and to strengthen the welfare agenda for the people.
In the 15th Negeri Sembilan state election, Aminuddin retained the Sikamat seat with 12,730 votes, achieving a majority of 2,662 votes against a Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate and two independent candidates.
The Election Commission (EC) has set July 18 as nomination day for the Negeri Sembilan state election, with early voting on July 28 and polling day on August 1.
