N9 Polls: Anthony Loke’s Pol-Sec Is DAP’s Choice For Temiang

Temiang: DAP has named Transport Minister Anthony Loke's political secretary, Ho Weng Wah, as its candidate for the Temiang state seat in the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election, replacing incumbent Ng Chin Tsai. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Loke, who is DAP secretary-general, stated that Ho is one of three new faces fielded by the party for the election. Alongside Ho, Lee Kai Yet will contest in Mambau and S. Mugunthan in Seremban Jaya, while the remaining eight incumbent assemblymen will defend their seats. Loke explained that the party had conducted a comprehensive assessment ahead of the election, including identifying potential new candidates as part of its efforts to rejuvenate the party. However, he noted that for this election, the party has adopted a more cautious approach by retaining most of the incumbents, who have strong service records and are well known to the voters. Highlighting the significance of the upcoming elections, Loke emphasized, "This is a critical election. We cannot afford to take risks in any constituency," during a press conference where he announced Ho as the Temiang candidate. Ho, 42, is a native of Temiang and has been serving as Loke's aide since 2000 before being appointed as his political secretary at the Transport Ministry in 2022. Loke praised Ho as a responsible individual with credibility and integrity, noting his efficient and transparent management of matters related to constituency allocations for the Seremban parliamentary constituency.
