N9 Polls: PN Approves Seat Allocations, Confirms Use Of Coalition Logo – Dr Sam

Kuala lumpur: The Perikatan Nasional (PN) Supreme Council has given the green light to seat allocation arrangements for the upcoming 16th Negeri Sembilan state election. This decision involves the coalition's component parties, which include PAS, Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (Gerakan), Parti Bumiputera Perkasa Malaysia (Wawasan), and the Malaysian Indian People Party (MIPP).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, PN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar announced that the council convened for a special meeting where it also decided that all PN candidates would contest under the Perikatan Nasional logo. Dr Ahmad Samsuri emphasized that the candidates' participation in the election aims to support the welfare of the people, advance the state's development agenda, and maintain harmony in Negeri Sembilan's diverse society and Malaysia as a whole.

Dr Ahmad Samsuri further explained that all initial discussions and collaborations with other parties received his knowledge and approval as the PN chairman. These matters were subsequently discussed and approved by the PN Supreme Council during its special meeting.

The statement from Dr Ahmad Samsuri was in response to remarks by Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. Muhyiddin claimed that Bersatu was not included in the discussions regarding PN's seat allocations for the state election, which also involved cooperation with Barisan Nasional (BN). As a result, Muhyiddin stated that Bersatu has opted to contest independently, using its own party logo in the forthcoming state election.
