Kuala lumpur: A total of 91.06 per cent or 14,995 early voters for the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election have fulfilled their responsibility today, exceeding the 90 per cent target set by the Election Commission (EC).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, EC secretary Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus reported that 16,467 military personnel and their spouses, as well as police personnel, were eligible to vote early in the state election. The voting process commenced at 8 am and was conducted across 38 polling centres statewide, closing in stages from noon to 5 pm.

Of the polling centres, 18 closed at noon, two at 2 pm, and the remaining 18 centres concluded voting at 5 pm. Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus expressed gratitude to all returning officers and their teams for efficiently managing the election process.

He extended thanks to the Negeri Sembilan State Secretary's Office, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF), media personnel, and all parties involved for their cooperation and support. The upcoming election on Saturday will see a total of 867,151 voters eligible to cast their ballots.
