Kuala lumpur: Micro-entrepreneurs in Felda Sungai Mas producing gula tarik are experiencing a significant expansion in their online market reach, thanks to the NADI-Preneur programme led by the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI). Nur Syahirah Khaidir, a 34-year-old entrepreneur, highlighted the value of the entrepreneurship programme organized by Felda Sungai Mas NADI, which equipped traders with essential digital skills for leveraging e-commerce platforms.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the NADI entrepreneurship class provided training on setting up business accounts and creating appealing video and photo content for products. Nur Syahirah, who has been selling preservative-free homemade products since 2017, has successfully expanded her market to regions like Sabah and Sarawak, beyond her initial local community, by actively promoting her products on e-commerce platforms and social media.
The programme offers full support, with Felda Sungai Mas NADI actively promoting products on their social media channels. Additionally, NADI organized a food handling course to benefit traders, particularly those from rural areas.
Norasikin Md Saidak, the manager of Felda Sungai Mas NADI, explained that the NADI-Preneur initiative aims to transform entrepreneurs from traditional sales methods to online platforms. Participants have evolved from basic email and online transaction skills to conducting business through platforms like TikTok Shop and Shopee, and managing digital banking.
With a membership of 3,463, Felda Sungai Mas NADI remains committed to organizing activities that encompass entrepreneurship, lifelong learning, personal wellbeing, and government initiatives. Norasikin emphasized the importance of innovative programmes like MAHIR Baiki Gajet, MAHIR Jahit, MAHIR Masak, MAHIR Foto, and MAHIR Pertanian Pintar, which are delivered online to equip the local community with technical skills that can be monetized.
The centre also conducts bootcamp programmes for training micro- and youth entrepreneurs in e-commerce, digital marketing, content management, and online branding strategies. The Tiny Technies programme is another initiative focused on enhancing students' technical skills in STEM fields.
