Kuala lumpur: Local rapper Wee Meng Chee, popularly known as Namewee, had a 'special relationship' with a Taiwanese influencer who was recently found dead in a hotel room, according to police reports. The Kuala Lumpur police chief, Datuk Fadil Marsus, confirmed the connection during a press conference at the police headquarters, which coincided with the Deepavali celebrations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, investigations revealed that Namewee was with the victim on a trip abroad before they arrived in Malaysia. Datuk Fadil Marsus stated, "So far, investigations have found that the suspect did indeed have a special relationship with the victim. We have also recorded statements from all individuals involved in the case." The police chief also noted that they are still waiting for the full post-mortem and toxicology reports, which are expected to take some time.

Additionally, it was reported that the victim's body has yet to be claimed by her family, further complicating the investigation. The case remains under close scrutiny as authorities continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the influencer's untimely death.
