National Day 2025 Rehearsal Gears Up, Participants’ Spirit Unfazed By Rain

Putrajaya: Despite repeated delays from this morning's heavy rain, participants of the 2025 National Day parade remained undeterred during the rehearsal, delivering lively and spirited performances until noon. National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN) director-general Mohd Amran Mohd Haris said the participants' energetic performances during the rehearsal reflected their unwavering commitment and love for the nation.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Amran highlighted that yesterday's rehearsal concluded around 9.48 am, but today's session started later at 11 am due to the rain, wrapping up at 1.03 pm. He expressed pride in the participants' high spirits despite the weather challenges. Mohd Amran, who also serves as the 2025 National Day Celebration Program Committee chairman, stated that preparations for the artistic and cultural performances were nearly 80 percent complete, showcasing the participants' dedication to expressing their patriotism through dance, music, and singing.

He noted that while the cultural performances were nearly flawless, the parade aspect required further refinement, particularly in coordination. However, with the collaboration of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and other contingents, he remained confident about improvements during tomorrow's full dress rehearsal. Mohd Amran emphasized that the true strength of the National Day celebration lay in the spirit and commitment of the participants, rather than just the event's organization.

He was particularly touched by the dedication of visitors who braved the morning downpour, some with umbrellas and others getting soaked, just to watch the rehearsal. This, he remarked, demonstrated how deeply the National Day celebration resonated with the people. Looking ahead to tomorrow's full dress rehearsal, Mohd Amran expressed optimism that the atmosphere would be more vibrant once participants donned their actual costumes, enhancing the overall energy and momentum of the performance.

Mohd Amran called on Malaysians to unite in celebrating National Day, which not only highlights the nation's vibrant art and culture but also embodies the spirit of unity, a fundamental pillar of the country's strength. He hoped for favorable weather conditions and a smooth event, assuring that contingency plans were in place to maintain enthusiasm even if it rains.

The 2025 National Day celebration will commence as early as 7 am this Sunday with the arrival of the country's leaders and His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia. The event will begin with the hoisting of the Jalur Gemilang by Royal Malaysian Navy personnel, followed by the recitation of the Rukun Negara pledge, and a parade featuring participants from various agencies, including government bodies, private organizations, and non-governmental organizations, along a 2.1-kilometer route. This year's main parade will feature 14,010 participants, 78 vehicle assets, seven decorated floats, 116 animals, and 21 marching bands.
