National Junior Karate Exponent Nur Aneesa Bags Gold In Jordan

Amman: National karate exponent Nur Aneesa Aira Mohamad Affendi did the country proud by bagging the gold medal in the Junior Women's Individual Kata event at the 24th Asian Cadet, Junior and U-21 Championships 2026 in Amman, Jordan, today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in the final action that took place at the Prince Hamzah Hall, Nur Aneesa Aira displayed exceptional agility to defeat her challenger from Taiwan, Chen Po-Jen, with a score of 4-1 to ensure the national anthem Negaraku was played.

Meanwhile, the bronze medals were shared by Tawfeeq Jude of Kuwait and Khalil Habiba, who represented the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Earlier, the national back-up athlete started on the right foot in the quarter-finals by eliminating the exponent from the host country, Jordan, 4-1 before recording an absolute 5-0 victory over Kuwaiti participant in the semi-final action.

The championship will run until September 10.
