Nation’s Economic Progress Needs To Touch The People Evenly – PM

Pantai leka: The country's development and economic progress must be enjoyed comprehensively by all levels of society, especially the people at the grassroots level, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He emphasized that the national development agenda should not only focus on large-scale projects or high-tech modernisation, but rather should be felt comprehensively by the community of farmers, fishermen, rice farmers, and smallholders.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of ensuring that development is enjoyed by all and guarantees convenience to the people, particularly those at the lower level. He urged for representation and voiced the need for leaders to connect with communities on the ground to understand and address their concerns effectively.

Anwar made these remarks while speaking at a Hi-Tea event with the fishing community, farmers, and local residents at Pantai Leka Food Court. He acknowledged that while high-tech projects such as artificial intelligence and digital transformation are crucial for future progress, the welfare and income of the rural community remain the priorities of the MADANI Government.

The Prime Minister assured that the government is attentive through relevant agencies and authorities to ensure that social safety nets and assistance to target groups are effectively channelled. He also urged the Cabinet and political leaders to actively engage with the populace to listen to their grievances and solve their problems effectively.

Anwar stressed the need for responsible leadership to boldly voice the challenges faced by the people at the grassroots level, ensuring that no group is left behind in the nation's modernisation efforts.
