Kuala lumpur: The Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) has achieved RM78.95 billion in realised investments while creating over 23,000 job opportunities in 2025, as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He shared this significant achievement during the 35th Northern Corridor Implementation Authority meeting, which he chaired.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim revealed in a post on X that the NCER also successfully developed 4,000 local talents last year. These talents were nurtured through the NCER Technology Innovation Centre (NTIC) programme and are now meeting the needs of investors and industries.
During the meeting, discussions focused on plans for 2026 and beyond, with an emphasis on enhancing the region's role in accelerating high-quality investments. Key areas of interest include potential investments associated with Kedah Rubber City (KRC) and the Chuping Valley Industrial Area (CVIA) in Perlis.
The Prime Minister also highlighted initiatives aimed at expanding the investment ecosystem along the Malaysia-Thailand border and a study to reinvigorate the tourism competitiveness of Langkawi Island.
