Nearly RM1.5 Million Allocated for Deepavali and Educational Aid to Indian Students in Teluk Intan

Kuala lumpur: Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming has disbursed RM1.48 million in Kasih MADANI aid to 248 Indian students in the Teluk Intan parliamentary constituency ahead of the Deepavali celebrations. Nga, who is also the Teluk Intan Member of Parliament, stated that the allocation primarily benefits students from 12 Tamil national-type schools (SJKT), marking it as the largest contribution of its kind in the area.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nga emphasized that this initiative reflects the MADANI government's dedication to ensuring no student is left behind due to financial hardships. He expressed hope that the aid would inspire students, particularly those from B40 families, to achieve academic excellence while alleviating their families' financial burdens before the festival later this month.

Out of the total allocation, RM1.23 million was directed towards schools, including SJKT Dato' Sithambaram Pillay, SJKT Ladang Ulu Bernam 2, SJKT Ladang Nova Scotia 1 and 2, SJKT Natesa Pillay, and SJKT Thiruvalluvar. An additional RM256,600 was distributed directly to students, with primary school students receiving RM1,000 each, secondary students RM1,200, and university students RM2,000. Nga mentioned that these funds aim to enhance school infrastructure and learning environments, benefiting thousands of Tamil students within the constituency.

Furthermore, Nga highlighted the significance of unity among all ethnic groups in improving Malaysia's global image. He remarked, "A great nation needs a clean government, fair policies, and a united people."
