Negeri Sembilan AADK Officers Breached SOP During Labu Raid – EAIC

Kuala Lumpur: The Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) has found that several officers from the Negeri Sembilan National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) failed to comply with standard operating procedures (SOP) during an operation at Kampung Felda LBJ, Labu, on March 8, 2023.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the EAIC's investigation revealed that several individuals who tested positive for drugs were released during the operation, which is an offence under Section 221 of the Penal Code. In light of these findings, the EAIC has decided to refer the findings of criminal conduct to the Public Prosecutor under subparagraph 30(1)(c) of the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission Act 2009 (Act 700).

Moreover, the EAIC stated that the misconduct of the AADK officers involved will be referred to the Disciplinary Authority with a recommendation for disciplinary action under subparagraph 30(1)(b) of Act 700. The investigation followed a complaint received against the Negeri Sembilan AADK for allegedly releasing several individuals who tested positive for drugs during the raid.

Additionally, AADK director-general Datuk Ruslin Jusoh has committed to providing full cooperation to the EAIC, emphasizing that the agency will not tolerate or protect any personnel involved in misconduct or integrity violations. Ruslin affirmed that firm action would be taken against any personnel found guilty under the existing legal provisions.

"AADK will continue to work closely with the EAIC in efforts to enhance good governance within the agency, especially concerning investigations into complaints of misconduct and integrity issues involving AADK personnel," he stated. Ruslin also reminded all AADK staff to execute their duties with integrity in adherence to the SOP and guidelines under the Anti-Bribery Management System.
