Johor bahru: Members of the new Johor State Executive Council (Exco) line-up are expected to take their oath of office at Istana Bukit Serene here tomorrow. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be graced by the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, a media invitation issued by the palace indicates that those scheduled to attend the ceremony include Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Johor Council of Royal Court president Datuk Dr Abdul Rahim Ramli, and state secretary Datuk Mohammed Ridha Abd Kadir. Media practitioners have been invited to cover the ceremony, with access provided at both main entrances of the palace from 9.30 am.
The event comes after Onn Hafiz Ghazi was sworn in as Johor Menteri Besar for a new term on July 12, following Barisan Nasional's (BN) victory in the 16th Johor State Election. BN won 48 of the 56 state seats in the Johor state election last Saturday, securing the mandate to form the state government for the new term.
