Seri menanti: Newly-appointed Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim has pledged to honour the trust and confidence placed in him by the people by carrying out his administrative responsibilities fairly, transparently and effectively for the well-being and progress of the state.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the mandate given by the people in yesterday's 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election represented a great responsibility, which Ismail accepted with humility and gratitude. "The people's trust is not merely an honour, but a call to prove that the government entrusted with the mandate will work diligently, listen to the people's aspirations and carry out its responsibilities fairly, transparently and effectively," he stated.
During the swearing-in ceremony at Istana Besar Seri Menanti, Ismail assured that the trust and confidence placed in him would always be safeguarded and upheld to the best of his ability. He emphasized building a government that listens, serves, and works for the well-being of the people and the progress of the state.
Ismail also pledged to uphold the sovereignty of the Yang Dipertuan Besar, preserve the dignity of the royal institution, and defend the principles of the Federal Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Negeri Sembilan. He noted the unique history and customary system of Negeri Sembilan, emphasizing the importance of preserving the values of Adat Perpatih for future generations.
He committed to ensuring that all state government policies and actions remain people-centric, grounded in justice, guided by integrity, and implemented transparently and responsibly. The state's development would continue sustainably and inclusively, benefiting all regions equally.
Ismail highlighted the need for strengthening the economy, attracting quality investments, creating employment opportunities, and improving standards of living, education, healthcare, housing, agriculture, and social well-being in Negeri Sembilan. He believes true progress includes social harmony, institutional strength, and public confidence in governance.
To ensure efficient administration, Ismail pledged to uphold trust, integrity, efficiency, and transparency while ensuring the civil service's dedication and professionalism. He also emphasized consensus and unity by listening to views and constructive criticism for the state's long-term interests.
Furthermore, Ismail committed to fostering harmonious relations between the Royal Institution, the state government, the Federal Government, the private sector, community leaders, and the people. He sought the guidance of Tuanku Muhriz and the people's prayers for strength and wisdom in his new role.
In a gesture of gratitude, he acknowledged former Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun for his service and leadership, recognizing his contributions to the state's development as a valuable foundation for future progress.
