Nagoya:Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim congratulated national squash player Ng Eain Yow for successfully defending his men's singles gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar praised Eain Yow's achievement in a Facebook post, highlighting that the squash ace had replicated his gold medal success from four years ago in Hangzhou.

Eain Yow secured the gold after defeating India's Abhay Singh with scores of 11-9, 11-5, 11-5 in the final at Nagoya Kinjofuto Arena. This victory not only brings glory to Malaysia but also grants the Kuala Lumpur-born player an early qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

This accomplishment adds to Malaysia's medal tally at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Games, bringing the total to five golds, which include two in karate and one each in e-sports and sepak takraw.
