Nicol David Among 25 Chosen for YTL Foundation’s Ilmu Fellowship

Kuala Lumpur:Former world squash champion Datuk Nicol Ann David has been selected as one of the 25 individuals in the inaugural cohort of the Ilmu Fellowship, a leadership programme by YTL Foundation.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Ilmu Fellowship is designed to enhance leadership skills, foster meaningful relationships, and promote a shared purpose in nation-building. The first cohort was chosen from over 800 applicants through a rigorous selection process, with 54 making it to the final stage. A 25-member panel assessed candidates based on leadership qualities and specific fellowship criteria.

The programme brings together professionals from various backgrounds who have shown initiative and contributions to their communities and organizations. Nicol David views the fellowship as an opportunity to learn from others, challenge her perspectives, and improve her community service efforts.

YTL Foundation's programme director Datuk Kathleen Chew highlighted the fellowship's role in providing the necessary support and community for participants to grow as leaders and contribute meaningfully to Malaysia’s future. The 10-month programme is fully funded and developed in collaboration with the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford, Acumen Academy, PEMANDU Associates, and leadership coach Alvin Ung.

The fellowship includes retreat sessions, workshops, mentoring, peer learning, and real-world leadership initiatives, culminating in a four-day programme at the University of Oxford. YTL Foundation aims to develop at least 250 leaders over the next decade to strengthen a culture of integrity and collaboration.
