No Compromise on Corruption in Negeri Sembilan Local Authorities: Aminuddin

Seremban: The Negeri Sembilan State Government has affirmed its stance on zero tolerance towards corruption, abuse of power, embezzlement, or any form of integrity misconduct among local authority (PBT) staff. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun emphasized that strict legal action will be enforced against any individuals involved, irrespective of their rank or position.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aminuddin made this statement during the Seremban City Council (MBS) City Appreciation Ceremony (MAB), where MBS Mayor Datuk Masri Baharuddin was also present. He reiterated his firm stance as the menteri besar, asserting that there will be no protection, compromise, or tolerance for any such misconduct. This approach is deemed essential in maintaining the image of MBS and the state government as a clean and credible administration trusted by the public, aligning with the goal of transforming Seremban into a smart and low-carbon city by 2027.

The media reported a recent case involving an assistant administrative officer of the Port Dickson Municipal Council (MPPD), who faced six charges in the Seremban Sessions Court for allegedly accepting bribes totaling over RM47,000 between June 2022 and March 2024.

In his address, Aminuddin highlighted the need for MBS to accelerate its efforts, enhancing organization and discipline to achieve the smart and low-carbon city agenda. This initiative is not merely a policy commitment but a strategic necessity for ensuring the city's sustainable future. Key priorities include digitizing at least 80 percent of MBS's main services by 2027, reducing approval times, utilizing an integrated data system, and implementing initiatives to lower carbon emissions and promote green mobility.

The ceremony also celebrated 71 individuals who received awards across 29 categories, such as the Cleanest Toilet Award and Best Night Market Management. Additionally, the event marked the launch of several initiatives, including the Seremban City Council Strategic Plan 2026-2030, the Seremban Fun Map Interactive Portal, and the "Pesona Seremban" Tourism Shirt, in conjunction with Visit Negeri Sembilan Year 2026.
