No Compromise On Sexual Case, Offenders To Face Firm Action – Fadhlina

Melaka: The Ministry of Education (MOE) will not compromise on any sexual misconduct in all educational institutions under its management, said Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek. "The strictest action must be taken against the offenders. No one will be spared!" she stated in a Facebook post.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fadhlina expressed deep regret over the recent sexual misconduct case at a school in Melaka. She has instructed the school, district education office, and state education department to fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation process.

Meanwhile, the MOE announced that the police are taking action on the Melaka case, with all suspects remanded for further investigation. The ministry has also instructed educational institution administrators to adhere to the Sexual Misconduct Management Guidelines to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff.

Melaka police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar reported that four Form 5 male students are suspected of a sexual offence against a Form 3 female student at a school in Alor Gajah on October 2. The students, all 17-year-old SPM candidates, have been remanded until October 16 as the investigation continues under Section 375B of the Penal Code.
