Putrajaya: The MADANI government has consistently adopted a 'colour-blind' approach, ensuring that political leanings do not influence policy implementation, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stated. He emphasized that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has maintained a non-discriminatory stance in policy execution, particularly in regional development and allocation distribution.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid affirmed during a panel at the "The MADANI Government - Retrospective and Mapping the Journey Forward" forum that political differences have never been a basis for revenge. The forum was a segment of the National Convention on Public Service Reform (ARPA), part of the Rancakkan MADANI Bersama Malaysiaku programme.
Ahmad Zahid, also serving as the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, noted that opposition states have received substantial allocations through regional development boards, illustrating the government's impartiality. He highlighted that states like Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, and Perlis received more allocations than those initially supporting Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
As UMNO president, Ahmad Zahid expressed his party's commitment to support the MADANI Government until the end of its term, aiming to uphold political stability and the continuity of national reforms. He stressed the importance of this support to ensure the uninterrupted implementation of government policies.
During the forum, Ahmad Zahid detailed various governmental reforms designed to enhance public service transformation. He mentioned the shift of ministries and agencies from cost centres to profit centres and the adoption of a cross-functional approach to dismantle bureaucratic silos, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of government policies.
He also highlighted advancements in education and human capital development, particularly within the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) ecosystem. The number of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) holders choosing TVET has seen a rise, with a target to reach 70% by the end of the 13th Malaysia Plan.
The Rancakkan MADANI programme, a three-day event commencing on Friday, features over 300 public service touchpoints, career carnivals, interactive exhibitions, family entertainment, and special promotions. This programme continues the tradition of the One-Year and Two-Year Programmes with the MADANI Government, annually reporting directly to the public.
The 2025 National Convention on Public Service Reform convened policy experts and industry players, focusing on the future of public service reforms.
