Meru raya: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has indicated that there will be no snap General Election (GE) and called on all parties to continue working together to find solutions amid the global energy crisis. He stressed that the current situation is not about political rivalry, but rather a time for patience and focus in addressing the nation's challenges.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar stated, "This is not politics. This is not about political rivalry or being hostile to one another. I will not be holding an election in the next one or two months, just be patient." He urged for unity, emphasizing, "When the time comes for elections, then compete. For now, we work. Enough of politics, rise and save our country!" His remarks came during the Perak MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2026 Perak at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Meru Raya.

Anwar also addressed the government's mechanisms for monitoring work-from-home (WFH) arrangements among civil servants, ensuring that integrity and quality of public service delivery remain intact. He highlighted the need for a responsible work culture and effective monitoring to prevent abuse.

Further, Anwar underscored the importance of the policy in testing the resolve and resilience of Malaysians amid uncertain global economic challenges. He described it as a strategic measure to bolster preparedness for a potential energy crisis following the conflict in West Asia. During the event, Anwar presented Sentuhan Kasih Syawal contributions to those in need, distributing RM5,000 to each recipient, including orphanages, elderly care homes, and centers for persons with disabilities (PWDs).
