Noh Omar Rejoins UMNO, Leaves Bersatu

Johor: Former Bersatu Supreme Council member Tan Sri Noh Omar today announced that he has relinquished his position in the party and rejoined UMNO and the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He stated that the move nullified his Bersatu membership, eliminating the need for any official resignation letter to the party leadership.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Noh Omar expressed openness to rejoining UMNO after observing Johor UMNO's firm stance on contesting independently, a position highlighted by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi in a recent speech. "I have great respect for the leadership and principles of Johor UMNO," Noh Omar remarked following the launch of the Johor BN election machinery at the Educity Sports Complex.

The event was officiated by BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and attended by notable figures including Johor BN chairman Onn Hafiz, MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, MIC president Tan Sri Dr SA Vigneswaran, and People's Progressive Party (PPP) president Datuk Dr J Loga Balan Mohan.

Former Selangor UMNO state liaison chief Noh was removed from UMNO in 2023 due to a violation of party discipline during the 15th General Election. He confirmed his membership with Bersatu in July 2024.
