Kota kinabalu: The number of flood evacuees in Sabah has decreased to 1,695 as of 8 pm today, down from 2,432 earlier in the afternoon. This reduction is attributed to the closure of all relief centres in Tawau, which had previously housed 245 people.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the State Disaster Management Secretariat reported that currently, only the Pitas district remains affected by the flooding. However, the situation there is showing signs of improvement. A total of 1,695 individuals from 861 families are being accommodated in five relief centres in the district.

Furthermore, the Secretariat noted that 46 villages in Pitas are still experiencing flood conditions. Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms tonight in several regions, including the interior, west coast, and Kudat, which could potentially impact the ongoing flood situation.
