Bentong: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) of Pahang seized over 1,100 tanks of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) worth an estimated RM171,687, from a premises in Jalan Manchis, Bentong under Ops Gasak yesterday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the operation was executed by seven enforcement personnel after a month-long intelligence effort targeting the premises, which was suspected of conducting wholesale LPG sales without a valid licence. Jezlily Jamaluddin, the director of KPDN, disclosed in a statement that the premises owner's LPG wholesale licence had expired, as indicated by the documents presented during the raid.
Preliminary investigations revealed discrepancies in the delivery of LPG, which was intended for a premises in Mentakab but was instead sent to a different address than the one stated in the invoice. In addition to the LPG tanks, the authorities seized three lorries, valued at approximately RM450,200, which were believed to be used for delivery and storage purposes, along with related documents.
