Ops Pantau Leads to 12,000 Premises Inspected in Pahang Over Two Years

Pahang: A total of 12,466 premises in Pahang were inspected under Ops Pantau of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) from 2023 to 2025, with 102 cases recorded, totalling RM18,600 in compound fines. State Consumer Affairs and Human Resources Committee chairman Sim Chon Siang stated that the operation was conducted by the Pahang KPDN from February 19 to March 20 to ensure the stability of supplies and compliance with the prices of goods during the Ramadan month and ahead of the Aidilfitri celebration.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, enforcement officers were strategically placed at popular consumer locations, including supermarkets, markets, night markets, agricultural markets, Ramadan bazaars, and online sales premises, to ensure comprehensive inspection and monitoring. The inspection focused on the supply and prices of essential goods such as sugar, chicken, eggs, cooking oil, wheat flour, wet items, and ingredients for making cakes.

Sim emphasized that the inspection ensured each item was displayed with clear price tags and that there was no profiteering activity. Price-controlled items were sold according to the maximum price gazetted by the government. The Pahang KPDN remains committed to ensuring a fair, ethical, and law-abiding business environment while preserving the well-being and interests of consumers throughout the festive period.

The chairman also encouraged the public to support the KITA GEMPUR initiative by lodging complaints via KPDN's official channels, which include the e-aduan portal, toll-free hotline, Ez ADU application, WhatsApp, and branch offices statewide.
