According to BERNAMA News Agency, the diesel was discovered in two drums and is believed to have been kept for illegal personal use. Nazatul Shima Karim, the enforcement chief of the Kudat branch, stated that a 31-year-old local man, believed to be the owner of the premises, has been detained for further action.

Nazatul Shima added that the case is being investigated under Regulation 3(1) of the Control of Supplies Regulations 1974, which concerns dealing in controlled goods without a valid licence or permit.
