Kuala lumpur: Kampung Orang Asli Kelinsing The heritage and culture of the Orang Asli community must continue to be appreciated, preserved, and passed on to younger generations, said Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah. He emphasized the importance of the Orang Asli community as a vital part of Malaysia's identity, soul, and history.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Abdul Halim expressed that the Orang Asli heritage should be regarded as Malaysia's heritage and their culture as Malaysian culture. He highlighted that the story of the Orang Asli community is an integral part of the nation's story. Abdul Halim urged that children should not only learn about their culture through history books but should grow up proud of their unique language, customs, arts, traditions, stories, and identity.
He conveyed these sentiments during his speech at the Indigenous People's Day celebration held at Kampung Orang Asli Kelinsing, which has been designated as the Communications Ministry's MADANI Adopted Village. During the event, he officiated the logos of the Kampung Orang Asli Jambu, Kelinsing, and Bakok, and presented Jalur Gemilang to local communities to enhance the celebration of the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM 2026).
Abdul Halim also urged the community to continue strengthening interpersonal relationships. He noted that true strength lies in the relationships among people, emphasizing that mutual support among neighbors strengthens the village, respect for the elderly helps preserve heritage, and collaboration between the community and the government makes development more meaningful. He asserted that unity among all Malaysians is essential for the country's progress in peace and prosperity.
In addition, Abdul Halim reminded the community of the importance of using the internet safely and remaining vigilant against online scams. He warned against believing promises of extraordinary returns, falling for contests never entered, clicking on suspicious links, or sharing bank information without verification, advising caution to avoid becoming victims of scammers.
