Over 1,000 Government Land Applications Under Review for Approval in Melaka

Melaka: The Melaka state government is currently processing 1,110 Government Land Applications (PTK) submitted since early 2023, with additional applications still under review, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh announced today. He said the evaluation process is rigorous, with a key requirement being that applicants must not have previously owned land.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, this initiative underscores the state government's commitment to providing opportunities for those without land to secure property of their own. Ab Rauf Yusoh shared these details with reporters after officiating the Pantai Belimbing Roundabout Intersection project. During the event, he also presented PTK approval letters as part of the 'Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat' programme under the Durian Tunggal State Legislative Assembly (DUN).

For 2025, 263 applications had been received, with 163 PTKs approved in the Alor Gajah district, followed by the issuance of 5A Notices by the Land Administrator. Ab Rauf noted that 16 approval letters were handed over to successful recipients, marking a significant step towards land ownership for many.

Of the 16 recipients, 14 were allocated land from the railway reserve in Kampung Gangsa Belimbing and Parit Melana. The remaining two recipients were the Melaka Islamic Religious Council (MAIM) for the Taman Vista Belimbing Mosque site and the Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council (MPHTJ) for a vehicle depot and logistics site.

Ab Rauf also highlighted that the state government had set a lower payment rate for recipients of land from the Railway Reserve (KTM), with costs ranging from RM11,000 to RM49,000, depending on the land's size. He emphasized that land ownership is not just an asset but a trust that ensures the welfare of both current and future generations.
