Kuala lumpur: More than 20 non-governmental organisations (NGOs), including HALUAN, Yayasan Amal Malaysia, Gerakan Pembela Ummah, and Muslim Care Malaysia, will participate in a national rally to show solidarity with Gaza, scheduled for this Saturday at Dataran Merdeka.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the rally director, Datuk Mohd Apandi Mohamad, stated that the event is organized by the Humanity 4 Gaza (H4G) Secretariat and has garnered support from various parties, including government agencies and members of Parliament from across the political spectrum. The rally aims to be a unified show of support for Gaza, transcending religious and political boundaries.

Excellent cooperation has been extended by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to ensure that the rally proceeds in an orderly and disciplined manner. The event is scheduled to run from 4 pm to 11 pm and will begin with a peaceful march after Asar prayers from several nearby locations, such as the National Mosque, Masjid Jamek, and SOGO, before the main programme commences at 5 pm at Dataran Merdeka.

The rally will also feature performances by nasyid groups Far East and Rabbani, along with activities involving Palestinian children, a special prayer session, and speeches by NGO leaders, civil society members, and international figures like Dr. Marwan from the Palestinian Union of Scholars. The event carries a humanitarian theme, aiming to unite all parties beyond religion and politics to express Malaysians' solidarity in supporting efforts to stop the genocide in Gaza, liberate Al-Aqsa, and restore the rights of the Palestinian people.
