Seremban: A total of 22,339 personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Negeri Sembilan and the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), along with their spouses, will participate in early voting for the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election on July 28.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad stated that this group includes 5,455 PDRM officers and personnel, while the remaining 16,884 are ATM personnel and their spouses eligible for early voting. Alzafny revealed that 1,796 officers and personnel will be stationed across all zones during the early voting day.
Alzafny further explained that 2,393 personnel will be assigned for duties on nomination day this Saturday. Additionally, 1,685 personnel will be active throughout the campaign period, with 4,788 personnel deployed on the actual polling day on August 1.
In his address, Alzafny urged political party candidates to maintain control over their supporters during the campaign to ensure a peaceful and orderly electoral process. He emphasized the importance of avoiding provocations, unauthorised processions, and the dissemination of false information, slander, and hate speech that could disturb social harmony.
Alzafny highlighted that PDRM is focusing on issues related to religion, race, and the Royal Institution (3R). The restrictions apply to political speeches, campaign materials, media statements, and social media content. He reminded all involved to accept the election outcomes maturely and to channel any objections through legal avenues, avoiding actions that might threaten public security or disrupt peace.
The Election Commission (EC) has scheduled the nomination day for this Saturday, with early voting set for July 28 and the main polling day on August 1.
