Over 3,000 Locations Nationwide Continue to Offer Menu Rahmah Meals

Sandakan: The Menu Rahmah initiative, launched in 2023, continues to thrive today with over 3,000 premises nationwide still offering the affordable meal option. Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh highlighted that the Mydin supermarket in Sandakan continues to serve Menu Rahmah meals priced at RM4.90 daily.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fuziah stated that the menu at Mydin varies from Monday to Sunday. On her visit, she observed that the day's menu included rice, soy sauce fish, stir-fried cabbage, and a drink, all priced at RM4.90. She emphasized that Menu Rahmah provides a balanced meal with protein, carbohydrates, and vegetables. She expressed gratitude towards strategic partners like Mydin for supporting the initiative, which aims to share blessings and assist those in need.

Fuziah also mentioned the ministry's ongoing support for registered Menu Rahmah operators, including the provision of a Menu Rahmah discount card. This card allows operators to purchase items at special prices at outlets like Mydin and during 'Jualan Rahmah' (Rahmah sales). The card offers benefits such as no purchase limit during sales, enabling individuals to buy more than typically allowed. This initiative is part of the government's efforts to assist those providing Menu Rahmah meals.

Fuziah encouraged food operators interested in offering Menu Rahmah to register with KPDN. During her visit to Sandakan, she checked the availability of essential goods to ensure sufficient supply ahead of the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN17). She visited supermarkets Savemore and MU Superstore to verify the availability of essential goods, especially during the election period when people from various areas may gather across the state. She confirmed that supplies, including sugar and cooking oil, were sufficient.
