Kuala lumpur: A total of 42 paintings and sculptures created by art and visual education teachers are on exhibition at the BANGUN!!! Pameran Guru Pendidikan Seni dan Visual Negeri Perak 2026. The exhibition, located at The Silver Lab on Jalan Datoh here, has been ongoing for about two weeks since Sept 1. The works were produced by 31 primary and secondary school teachers from across the state, each with different backgrounds, approaches, and artistic inclinations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the inauguration of the exhibition was officiated by Yayasan Perak board member and Ayer Kuning assemblyman Dr. Mohamad Yusri Bakir. Exhibition director Amrie Zakaria stated that the inaugural exhibition aims to promote a culture of creativity among teachers and to build a stronger network between educators, creators, art institutions, and the community. He emphasized that each piece in the exhibition carries its own journey and story.

Zakaria highlighted that previously, the works produced by art teachers were only exhibited on a smaller scale, making this event a significant opportunity for public viewing, especially for the younger generation. Meanwhile, Dr. Mohamad Yusri mentioned that the exhibition aims to inspire art and visual appreciation among enthusiasts and students engaged in art and visuals.

Dr. Yusri added that such exhibitions can attract the public, particularly the youth, to gain a deeper understanding of art and help in popularizing it. He affirmed that Yayasan Perak views art and creativity as vital components in shaping a knowledgeable, cultured, and competitive society. Consequently, he stressed the importance of supporting efforts to strengthen the arts ecosystem through educator involvement to ensure the continued development of artistic talent and potential.
