Manila: The weather bureau has issued a warning to the public regarding individuals who are fraudulently posing as officials to solicit money for a foundation.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) revealed that it received a report about an email sent by someone impersonating a PAGASA official. The email was directed to a contractor, requesting a donation for a purported foundation.
PAGASA, in its advisory, emphasized that it does not condone such misrepresentation. The bureau made it clear that no individual or organization is authorized to use PAGASA's name, or the names of its officials and employees, to seek favors.
