Pahang: The Pahang government will intensify enforcement against activities involving mineral resources to ensure that all operations comply with the law. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail emphasized that the state government would not compromise with any party that disregards stipulated licence, permit, and approval requirements.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Wan Rosdy stated that enforcement efforts will be continuously strengthened, including utilizing monitoring and intelligence technology, to ensure the responsible management of the state's mineral resources in accordance with the law. A comprehensive investigation has been ordered into the transportation of minerals suspected to be iron ore in Raub.

Intelligence efforts, including drone surveillance, detected three trailers suspected of transporting minerals out of the mining area. These trailers were stopped for inspection by the Pahang Enforcement Unit (UPNP). The drivers produced Form 13D and Delivery Orders (DOs) from approvals for other areas when transporting the minerals.

Further inspection revealed the mineral stockpile location indicated by the drivers was outside the permitted mining area specified in the documents. Enforcement personnel found the stockpile was in an area with a temporary occupation licence, and the drivers failed to produce valid documents or approvals relating to the location.

Enforcement personnel detained the three drivers to assist in the investigation and seized three trailers believed to have been used to transport the minerals. The individuals were taken to the Bentong district police headquarters and subsequently released on police bail, while the vehicles were taken to the UPNP Central Pahang Zone seizure site in Temerloh.

The seizures and arrests were conducted under Section 137 of the Pahang State Mineral Enactment 2001, with further investigations into information and breaches of terms or conditions under Sections 159 and 165 of the same law.
