Pekan:Kuantan The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) has seized approximately 2,000 litres of diesel and a lorry with a trailer, valued at nearly RM250,000.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Pahang KPDN director JezliIy Jamaluddin stated that the operation was aimed at investigating the misuse of fleet cards and diesel storage permit conditions. This took place at an oil palm processing factory in Pekan around 11 am the previous day.
Inspections during the operation uncovered the transfer of petroleum, believed to be diesel, from a lorry's tanker to a storage area within the factory premises. Preliminary investigations suggest that the diesel was acquired from various petrol stations and transported to the factory, raising suspicions about potential fleet card misuse.
JezliIy Jamaluddin noted that while the factory possessed valid diesel storage permits, the methods of procurement, supply receipt, and stock record management might not comply with the permit conditions. Further investigations into the matter are ongoing.
