Lipis: The Pahang state government remains committed to implementing the Tunas Makmur Programme under the Pahang Makmur Initiative (IM Pahang), with an allocation of RM9 million this year. This initiative is expected to benefit approximately 250,000 recipients, including school students, institutions of higher learning, teachers, and lecturers.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail emphasized the government's dedication to improving the programme, ensuring that all eligible individuals can receive support. Speaking at the Lipis Makmur Carnival, he elaborated on the programme's expansion, which includes providing assistance to all Year 1 students across Pahang, as well as students in Years 2 to Form 5 who fall into the poor and hardcore poor categories.
For the 2025 school session, Wan Rosdy announced that parents of Year 1 children would not need to purchase school supplies, as the state government will provide essential items such as stationery, pencil cases, coloured pencils, dictionaries, and school bags for free. This initiative aims to ensure students are well-prepared and motivated for their educational journey.
Additionally, Wan Rosdy highlighted that each recipient of the Tunas Makmur assistance programme would receive a 30 per cent discount card, valid at all MBS World store chains throughout Pahang. This measure is part of the government's ongoing efforts to support the educational needs of children in the state.
