Kuala lumpur: Pahang Sultan Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah attended the wedding reception of his daughter, Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Ilyana Alia, and her husband Christopher Lionel Froggatt at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. His Royal Highness was joined by the Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, his siblings, and members of the royal family.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and Shaikh Mohammed Hamad Tahnoon Al Nahyan, a representative of the President of the United Arab Emirates, were also present at the event. The ceremony featured the royal couple seated on the dais for the 'Istiadat Menyuap Nasi Semangat' ceremony, conducted by Tengku Puteri Seri Lela Wangsa Tengku Tan Sri Meriam Sultan Ahmad Shah.

The proceedings continued with the 'Istiadat Bersanding dan Merenjis', performed by Al-Sultan Abdullah, followed by members of the family. The Sultan also performed the 'Istiadat Meletakkan Panca Bicara', a gesture of blessing and honor for the newlyweds, before a prayer was recited by Pahang Mufti Datuk Dr Asmadi Mohamed Naim.
