Pamela Ling Case: MACC Hands Over Case To Police

Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has handed over the case of missing person Pamela Ling Yueh, who is believed to have been abducted, to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the commission stated that Ling did not appear at its headquarters on April 9, despite being requested to assist in investigations under the MACC Act 2009 and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act (AMLATFPUAA) 2001. The MACC added that their officers were unable to reach her through her communication device.

A police report was lodged by Ling's lawyer on the day of her disappearance. Subsequently, the MACC transferred the responsibility of the search to the PDRM, based on the filed police report. The commission urged the public to avoid speculation or dissemination of information from unverified sources and to allow the police to carry out their investigation.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa noted that statements had been recorded from 12 witnesses, including Ling's family members, MACC officers, and her lawyer, to assist in the ongoing investigations.
